the unique architectonic ensembles such as: the Spit of Vasilievsky Island and Peter & Paul Fortress, the Decembrists’ Square with the monument of Peter the Great, St.Isaac’s Cathedral and Isaakievskaya Square, the spacious and majestic Palace Square with the best baroque style building Winter Palace and, of course, Nevsky Avenue (Nevsky prospekt) – the main street of the city.
During your tour to Saint-Petersburg you will see the Peterhof Museum Complex – one of the most popular museums not only in Russia, but in the world.
Even a few hours here are enough to feel the spirit of history, which still lives on and breathes in this magnificent place. The Peterhof Museum Complex is rightfully regarded as the “capital of fountains.” Included in the state register of most valuable cultural objects of the Russian Federation, Peterhof now bears the proud title of one of the “Seven Wonders of Russia.”
You will also visit the State Hermitage – one of the largest and oldest museums of the world.
It was founded in 1764 by Catherine the Great and open to the public since 1852. Its collections, of which only a small part is on permanent display, comprise nearly 3 million items, including the largest collection of paintings in the world.
